The Kentucky Big Rivers State Championship Annual BBQ Cookoff is held in BARDWELL in June, sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society. 40 or more professional teams from all over the United States. Featuring music, food and fun for all ages. Held at the Carlisle County Park on the third weekend in June.
Enjoy the Carlisle County Fair held in August at the Carlisle County Park in Bardwell. The fair features motorcycle races, demolition derby and rides for all ages.

Columbus Belmont State Park is located near Arlington on the Kentucky border overlooking the Mississippi River. Don't miss this Civil War site once occupied by both Union and Confederate forces. The 156 acres park holds a museum featuring many artifacts, Civil War cannons, trenches a picnic shelter, gift shop along with a snack bar and hiking trails.
The 38 campsites also feature RV hookups, restrooms, water, electricity.
This is one of the best kept secrets in the State Park system in Kentucky. Extremely well maintained and landscaped - a hidden jewel.

Westvaco Wildlife Management Area - consists of several hundred acres. All types of wildlife such as deer, ducks, geese, eagles, hawks, coyotes and bobcats. Two oxbow lakes - one is open to public for fishing, the other is private. Overlooks the Mississippi River with a new boatramp. Access from Hwy 80 - take KY 877 to Berkley, then right into CR1217.
