Knott County is the Elk Capital of the East with over 12,000 elk roaming free in a 16-county area.

Knott County also holds the largest horse ride in the United States every Spring & Fall. The dates are always the first weekend in both May and October.

There are nearly 100 miles of dedicated Horse Trails and over 100 miles of multi-use trails primarily used by Off-Road Vehicle Riders.
