Charity Golf Tournament

at Crosswinds Golf Course in Bowling Green

A charity golf scramble will be held by WKC and Western Kentucky University September 23rd at Crosswinds Golf Course starting at 8 am.  The event will be a four-man scramble, all proceeds going to New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding Program in Bowling Green.

What is New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding?

New Beginnings Therapeutic Riding, Inc. is a non-profit 501 c 3 organization that teaches people with disabilities to ride horses for therapeutic benefits.  We are a Premier Accredited Center with North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA), our governing organization. We began in 1997 with 3 riders and 20 volunteers, and have grown to 100 riders and over 90 volunteers in 2006.

We use equine-oriented activities for the purpose of contributing positively to the cognitive, physical, emotional and social well being of people with disabilities.  Therapeutic riding provides benefits in the areas of exercise, education, sport, recreation and leisure.  Horseback riding is a activity that our riders can be involved in that helps build confidence and independence, better behaviors, more logical thinking processes, and better physical conditioning.  Our riders work very hard learning and achieving very challenging goals set for them by certified Instructors specially trained in Therapeutic Riding.
