Located in the heart of white-tailed deer, wild turkey and elk country, Manchester and Clay County provide unlimited opportunities for wildlife viewing. The majority of Clay County lies within the Daniel Boone National Forest as part of the Redbird District.
There are two wildlife management areas located within the county.
Burchell-Beech Creek WMA (1,218 acres)
Just 4.5 miles northeast of Manchester, this WMA includes the Bert T. Combs Lake, a popular fishing location for trout, channel catfish, bass, crappie and bluegill.
