This tour takes you west to east across the center of Kentucky.

Along the way:
Hickman on the Mississippi River starts the tour. Hickman is an old river town.
Land Between the Lakes is a World Biosphere Reserve. Attractions include the Woodlands Nature Center, Homeplace-1850 and a Planetarium.
Cadiz, near the shores of Lake Barkley, features the Woods & Wetlands Center with a huge aquarium and walk-through wildlife park.
Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park is located near Dawson Springs. Stop here for a meal and overnight.
Lake Malone is surrounded by 200 foot cliffs and wooded sandstone bluffs is a great picnic spot.
Bowling Green is home to the one and only GM Corvette Plant and the National Corvette Museum.

Riverview (Hobson House) presents an elegant interpretation of Victorian times from 1860-1890.

Don't miss going on an underground boat ride at Lost River Cave. A great time can also be had at Beech Bend Amusement Park & Raceway.
The Green River Museum is located in tiny Woodbury just north of Bowling Green. The Museum highlights the colorful riverboat era.
Major touring area is dotted with caves such as Mammoth Cave National Park. Several tours are available at this World Heritage Site but make reservations in advance.
In Horse Cave, you'll want to visit the American Cave Museum, Kentucky Caverns at Kentucky Down Under - a bit of Australia right in Kentucky! Horse Cave Theatre, Crystal Onyx Cave, Diamond Caverns and the 15 tepees at Wigwam Village are but a few of the area's other attractions.
Danville offers Constitution Square State Historic Site and the McDowell House & Apothecary Shop. Kentucky's greatest Civil War battle took place in nearby Perryville.
Berea is Kentucky's "Crafts Capital" You can tour the studios of many professional craftspeople and artists all over town. After a long day of shopping, visit Boone Tavern for a delicious meal.
Red River Gorge has a unique landscape. There are more than 80 natural arches and the largest concentration of rock shlters and arches east of the Rockies. A 30-mile loop features scenic overlooks and views the Red River. Natural Bridge State Resort Park is a great overnight stop.
Prestonsburg is home to the chairlift at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park. Ride for a panoramic mountain view.
Paintsville is the birthplace of the "Coal Miner's Daughter" Loretta Lynn. Visit the Mountain Homeplace for a living history village depicting the rugged life of those who lived in Appalachia in the mid-1800s.
