Calhoun Baptist Church
Across from the Muster Funeral Home. Established in 1850-51, the first Sanctuary was built in 1850 at the cost of just over $1400 and dedicated September 16, 1860. The second Sanctuary was built in 1907 and used until September 1990 at which time the third and present building was dedicated September 16, 1990 on the 130th anniversary of the first Sanctuary.

Calhoun United Methodist Church
On the corner of 4th and Center Street is the United Methodist Church. The first Church building was built on the southwest corner of 4th and Branch with the back of the Church near the ravine. In 1867, a high water washed the back foundation out and the back of the church fell into the ravine. In 1867, the trustees of the church bought three lots and built the Sanctuary currently being used.

Cumberland Presbyterian Church The Cumberland Presbyterian Church was located on the corner of 4th and Branch (where Mrs. Elbert Dame now resides). Deed Book N, Page 144, McLean County, records a transaction on February 7, 1889 land was purchased from L.L. Moore and wife by the trustees of the Cumberland Presbbyterian Church. Sometime after 1915, church attendance dropped and the Church merged with the Antioch Presbyterian Church and the Church building was later razed, the lot and parsonage were sold.
Holiness Church Please Note: The first Courthouse was located on the hill overlooking the Green River at the site of the present Holiness Church sometime after the first Court of the County was held in the James Landrum Tavern House in 1854.
No Longer Exists
At the end of West 5th Street and across Poplar can be seen the remains of Little Union the Church used by the colored people of Calhoun. "April 26, 1870, the Trustees, Henry Heron, David Pumphrey, George Henning, Thomas Wickliff and David McClarity purchased 1/5 acre from Henry Griffith and wife for a church for the colored people of Calhoun." - Ref.
