The woodlands and cleared bottomlands around Barren Lake make up the 14,340 acre Barren WMA located in Barren & Allen Counties. The wildlife viewing area has a platform, viewing shed, and trail where you can see white-tailed deer, eaastern cottontail rabbit, gray squirrel, red fox, raccoon, striped skunk, groundhog, oppossum, Canada geese, bald eagle, gulls, common water snake, black racer, eastern bluebird and other songbirds (migratory). The habitat consists of hilly to gently sloping terrain, with woodlands and cleared bottomlands maintained for wildlife.
Peninsula Unit, Grass, Goose Mason & Narrows Islands open to primitive weapons hunting only. Tailwater Campground is open year-round but no camping allowed in the WMA. The Dry Creek Unit is mobility impaired designated area.
