The 54 acre lake is part of the 164 acre Cavitt's Creek Park. Lake Witten is classified as a "Class A" lake. The Virginia Game Commission stocks trout nine times a year. Open for fishing, camping, picnicking, hiking and boating (only electric motor boats are permitted).

Guest River Gorge Trail

This picturesque 5.8-mile rail-trail follows the old Norfolk-Southern railroad route once used to haul coal. The trail passes through Swede Tunnel, built in 1922 and over a number of trestles. This portion of the Guest River is designated a State Scenic River. Hikers, bicyclists, anglers, canoeists, and kayakers are invited to enjoy the scenery and interesting geology of the gorge. The trailhead features paved parking and restrooms.

This picnic area features 18 picnic units with table and grill or fireplace. A group shelter is also available. Little Stony Creek provides trout fishing. The Little Stony National Recreation Trail, also in the area, is a lovely 2.8 mile hike.Hanging Rock Picnic area is located beside Little Stony Creek in a hardwood forest with rhododendron and hemlocks. Huge rock cliffs along the creek and the sound of rushing water add to the natural beauty of the area.

This 92 Acre lake, surrounded by a lovely wooded area, may be used for fishing or boating. The lake features a paved boat launching ramp, four picnic units with tables and grills, and a 3.7 mile lakeshore loop trail that provides access for shore fishing and wildlife walking. The lake is home to bass, sunfish, tiger, catfish, muskie and a variety of other fish and wildlife. Boating is limited to non-motorized or electric motor boats only.
Little Stony National Recreation Trail

Little Stony National Recreation Trail is located between Coeburn and Dungannon on a narrow guage railroad bed that was constructed in the early 1900's for logging. The 2.8 mile trail follows the stream through a 400 foot deep and 1,700 foot wide gorge. There are also two waterfalls 8 and 24 ft high. You can also see the large rock outcrop at the Hanging Rock Picnic Area. It is classified as being medium in degree of difficulty. Much of the trail is wide and barrier free, but there are places where the trail crosses side hollows and goes across Stony Creek where it is necessary to climb over large rocks and boulders. Fishing is also allowed along the sreams, the sheer size of the canyon and roaring sound of rushing water gives the hiker an exciting experience.
North Fork of Pound Reservoir

the 154 acre lake is used for fishing, boating, camping, picnicing, hiking, and municipal water supply. Picnic area overlooks reservoir and is complete with restroom facility. The reservoir is managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers, but most of the developed recreation sites are managed by the Jefferson National Forest. Fish population in the lake includes, largemouth bass, crappie, catfish and sunfish. The lake is stocked by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. Cane Patch campground is the center of the recreation activity on the lake. It has 33 camping sites with restrooms, showers and playground equipment.
The Laurel Fork campgrounds provide a more primitive atmosphere for campers and is only accessible by boat.
