This unique area offers visitors a variety of unusual sites and opportunities. On the first Monday in April, the streets of Benton fill with thousands of people who have come to celebrate Tater Day, in honor of the sweet potato. The Big Singing, held on the third Saturday in May, is the oldest indigenous music festival in the United States. It has attracted singers from several foreign countries to sing the sacred southern harmony music from William Walker's original "shaped note" hymnals. Well known for it's quality antiques - come stroll Benton's relaxed streets and enjoy the day!
