BIG GAME BANQUET

There will also be a 3-D Archery Tournament, Sporting Clays and more throughout the day. Don't miss this fun day. For more information, contact (270) 781-5432.

The 3-D Archery Shoot with begin at 10 AM with trophies for Men's Unlimited, Men's Fixed Pins, Women's Class, Youth, & Cub. Several other types of shoots will be going on throughout the day with prizes awarded.

They will also be raffling off a fully outfitted Matthews Z7 at the banquet.

Sporting clays competition will be going on, however, anyone interested in the clays competition must pre-register by calling (270) 749-4101. It is a "Registered" Shoot! Any shooter who buys a banquet meal will receive $100 in free raffle tickets.

Banquet doors will be open 5 pm and the meal will begin at 6 pm under the tent. Everyone is invited to stay and enjoy the banquet.

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Southern Kentucky Chapter's Banquet & Fundraiser was a big success!. We had a great time supporting a great cause! This year's event was on Saturday July 17 at Park Mammoth Resort. Doors opened at 4:30 pm. During the social hour, there were drawings, raffles, games drinks, and a silent auction. Dinner and a live auction followed.

The sporting enthusiasts who wanted to start the day earlier tried out the 3-D Archery, sporting clays and golf. Additionally, a "sniper" long-range archery competition was held in the afternoon.

The Chapter hosted the first annual Archery Shoot & BBQ at Spencer's Farm in Bowling Green in the summer of 2009. Over 120 people attended the one day event and around 55 people participated in the shoot.

Our thanks go out to the Myer Creek Archery Club from McLean County.

The Myer Creek Archery Club loaned the Southern KY Chapter 30 of their 3-D targets which made it possible to have a 20-station archery shoot and special novelty shots. Without their generosity and the generosity of Gander Mountain, this event could not have taken place.


This Year's Winners:

MEN's DIVISION: Jeremy Draper of Alvaton. Score 212 out of a maximum of 240. He won a Blendale Buck 3-D archery target donated by Gander Mountain.
Second Place: Jeff Brown, Bowling Green. Score 203.

YOUTH DIVISION: Logan Cherry, Alvaton. Score of 190. Logan won a Delta target which was also donated by Gander Mountain.

Dr. Paul Graham, who works with NASP's Archery in the School Program, was busy all day working with the younger crowd, providing all who desired to have an opportunity to test their skills.
CORN HOLE TOURNAMENT

The winners of the corn hole tournament were husband and wife team, Tim & Sarah Freeman. They won a custom-made set of RMEF corn hole boards by Bowling Green's Ferguson Customs.

RAFFLES WERE HELD ON NUMEROUS ITEMS.

A number of people entered the contest to win RMEF Banquet Rifles valued at $800 each, giving everyone who participated nearly a 5 in 1 chance of winning. The big winners of the guns were Paul Morgan and Craig Wickman, both of Bowling Green (see right).

Dean Wuchterl of Sulphur, Kentucky was the big winner of the Bow-Tech Admiral Progressive Bow. His name was also placed into a lottery for a chance to win a Montana Elk Hunt.

Many people also entered the 2009 2-gun drawing for a Mossberg 4 x 4 . 300 Win Mag (valued at $529) and a Browning T Bolt .22 (valued at $519). Raffle tickets are still available for just $10 with a 1 in 200 chance of winning. A lucky winner will be drawn sometime this fall. Get into the drawing by contacting Dan at (270) 781-5432.

This coming Spring, the Southern Kentucky Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, plans to host a banquet. The Chapter also is looking forward to hosting another archery shoot (and possibly a gun shoot).
