The fourth and present Scott County courthouse was completed in 1877. The designer for the courthouse was Thomas Boyd of Pittsburgh who also designed the Jessamine and Fayette County courthouses. Isaac Graveson of Cincinnati was awarded the contract for construction at a cost of $34,000. In 1971 the building was restored at a cost of $425,000 and the clock tower rebuilt for a price of $70,000.
