Construction on the second and present Oldham County courthouse was completed in 1875. The new building was built to replace the old one, which was destroyed by fire in 1873. The architect for the project was Monroe Q. Wilson of Louisville. The east and west wings were added after the original construction was completed. The total cost for the courthouse was $15,780.80.
