In 1904 construction on the third and present Logan County courthouse was completed. The new building was needed due to a bomb exploding in the old courthouse. W. Chamberlins design was chosen over many that were submitted to the court. In 1972-73 renovations took place supervised by the Lexington architectural firm Harrison, Hisle, and Associates. There were many changes made to the interior and exterior of the building including the addition of a new cupola with a clock.
