The fourth and current Jackson County courthouse was completed in 1951. The new courthouse was built to replace the old one, which was destroyed by fire in 1949. J.M. Ingram of Louisville was the architect for the new building and McWhorter Brothers of McKee were awarded the contract. The project was completed for a cost of $95,000.
