The fourth and present Hardin County courthouse was completed in 1934, and was built to replace the old one, which burned in 1932. The courthouse is of Beaux-Arts design and is a three-story brick structure. H.G. Wittenburg was the contractor and Thomas Nolan of Louisville was the architect. The building was constructed for a cost of $64,500.
