The second and current Carlisle County courthouse was built in 1981 and
completed in 1982 after an arsonist destroyed the original courthouse.
The original courthouse served the county for around ninety- five years.
The courthouse is of modern design, brick with just one story and
was completed at a cost of $440,000.
