The fourth and present Cumberland County courthouse was constructed in 1934. It is the third courthouse to occupy the current site of the courthouse. Edgar W. Archer, of Louisville, was the architect and J. Fred Pace, of Marrowbone, was the contractor. The building has a Colonial Georgian style and was completed at a cost of $37,080.
