Elizabethtown, KY

Elizabethtown was captured by General John Hunt Morgan on December 27, 1862, and is home to the Lincoln Heritage House. Located behind the museum in Freeman Lake Park, this house was constructed by Abraham Lincoln's father, Thomas.

Another site of interest is the Helm Cemetery where General Benjamin Hardin Helm, a commander of the Confederate Orphan Brigade from Kentucky, is buried. He was also the husband of Mary Todd Lincoln's half sister, Emilie Todd.
