Third Saturday of August
The Mountain Market Festival is a showcase for local farm products and crafts. This year's festival is scheduled for Saturday beginning 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Throughout the day, an open-air market will feature farm-fresh produce, handmade regional crafts, and other local products for sale.

Visitors also can learn some of the tricks of the trade from the state park system's renowned cooks in a "chef's culinary corner."

Musicians also will perform at various times during the day. Then, starting at 7:30 p.m., a square dance will be held, featuring long-time emcee and square dancer caller Richard Jett.

The open-air market, music and dance will be staged in the lower park area around the Hoedown Island pavilion. Meanwhile, all park
recreational facilities will operate throughout the day, including the public pool, nature trails, and pedalboats.

The festival is open to the public and is sponsored by the Archway Regional Tourism Association, the county extension offices of
Powell, Lee, Wolfe, Menifee, Montgomery, Owsley, Estill and Breathitt counties, and the Tourism Development Cabinet.
